Just came back from a quick doctor's appt. while there I noticed the art left by a bunch of his younger patients displayed on the back of my exam room's door.
I love children's art, I don't know why, but looking at how they try to capture reality is a lot of fun.
This particular drawing caught my eye:
|
Children's art at doctor's office - crayons over plain copy paper. |
I loved the gigantic legs on the birds (I am guessing they are egrets since this is Florida), and the two animals to the right. I am guessing they are cats or dogs... maybe even chickens or gators... or baby T-Rex dinosaurs.
Anyway, my husband called them: "Ice Cream Cone Dogs"
So... after I got home and while he got the cats situated before hitting the road, I quickly drew this:
|
My ice cream corn dog - Graphite, micon pen, brush pen and prismacolor pencils over plain Moleskine notebook. Aprox 20 mins. |
I am sure I won't have time to update later tonight, so I decided to go ahead and doodle something fast... and yes, his ears are made out of fudge. Andrei complained that my version had 4 legs instead of two... I said I couldn't have him dragging the cone about, because it would break.
Yes, we do have that kind of arguments around here. We are all insane.
Oh, and... happy 1 month of drawings!!! I can't believe it's been already 31 days without a pause.

That doggie is adorable! Put him on a tshirt! Seriously.
This and previous post made me laugh out loud! Love the dog. And was wondering if you have ever read any Jasper Fforde? I Love all of his books. Have fun and hope you see Jen!
I LOVE the ice cream cone dog. It's adorable. Thank you for sharing. Have a fantastic weekend. :)
OOOOO 0W0 he's so cute.
Absolutely adorable icecream cone dog! Would be awesome to be able to purchase prints of some of these :)
Awww! I've really enjoyed a lot of your posts, but for some reason your ice-cream dog drawing really calls to me. :)
In fact, would it be all right by you if I tried to recreate it as some kind of craft (either 2d embroidery or 3d crochet)? Not for profit or anything, just for the heck of it. (My wrist is currently broken, so it wouldn't be for a while, sigh, but like I said, something about your ice-cream dog really appeals to me!!)
Love it. I want to squeeze it and eat it at the same time.
Grats on 1 month. I love checking your blog after a long day of work, definitely puts me in a better mood for the night. Thank you for sharing your talents.
That puppy is just begging to be a children's book! I love it!
It's so cute! But it's so tasty-looking at the same time... I'm not sure if I would want to eat it or keep it as a pet.
And congratulations on a full month! Best of luck and keep going strong!
Love it! I'd take one of these over a hot dog any day ;)
EEP! I love his fudgy ears. And I'm glad you gave him 4 legs. A broken cone would be a travesty.
I love that your husband saw ice cream cones in the dogs drawn by the kiddo, and that you translated that idea into something more solidly ice cream cone-ish in nature! This is super adorable; one of my favorite things you've drawn =).
I agree with "eilonwy"; this would be a great embroidery pattern!!

I agree with Misti! Put that ice cream cone dog on a t-shirt! Soooo cute! Infant and toddler shirts as WELL as adult ones! :) LOL I love the conversations you have with your husband :) Sounds like my house...LOL :D
Keep drawing, lady! I mostly just lurk but enjoy coming by every few weeks to see what you've been up to :)
