Doodle 019 - Regal
A quick regal doodle for Sunday.
I have no idea where this one came from, her face, overall the eye area isn't as nice as I would like, but I sort of like it.

I am intrigued by the line quality you're able to get with a mechanical pencil. Usually I don't like them - it feels like I'm slicing the paper when I try to draw. But clearly you know how to coax something better out of those pencils - what lead are you using in them?
@Susanna King: I know exactly what you mean. When I decided to start drawing again I did some research on leads and mechanical pencils that could help me.
As of right now my hand starts to cramp and be in pain after about 40 minutes of drawing. I found a mechanical pencil and soft 4B leads that allow me to draw longer without having to press down much on the paper.
the 4B 0.5 leads I use at the moment glide nicely, leave a dark line when pressed slightly and this allows me to get that quality without ripping through the paper.
I must also point that my mechanical pencil has a lead rotating mechanism that stops the lead from developing that ever annoying sharp edge when it wears on only one side and contributes to the whole ripping the paper issue.

Thanks for the tips. I will definitely check out that site. I didn't know someone had invented a mechanical pencil with an auto-rotating lead. Truly, we are living in the future. :)
