A good friend who happens to be a brilliant illustrator (seriously, check out her site, she is amazing! When I grow up I want to be like her hehehehe), recommended copics to me when I asked her what medium she had used for this year's Winter trading cards.
Copic markers can get really pricey, but like the coupon fiend I am, I got 2 discount coupons for Michaels, Andrei made the math for me and after a loooong day at work, I walked out of the store happily carrying 2 starter sets of markers and some in-between colors for a fraction of the retail price.
Eager to try my new tools, I decided to break open the illustration boards I had bought a couple of days before and go to town. (Art and crafts stores are sooo dangerous for me, you guys, I might need another sponsor, Andrei indulges me way too much).
So, today I drew a larger version of a past doodle and started to refine it. Hopefully tomorrow, when I don't feel like a truck nearly ran me over, I will finish the inking and get on with the coloring.
I am nervous, but hey, if I mess it up, it is OK, you have to start somewhere and letting fear decide for you will only make challenges impossible to conquest.

Nothing more exciting than a new year and fresh new art material! Have fun!
Fun! Can't wait to see this in color! New art supplies are always so exciting (and yes, scary). Good for you for pushing past the fear and diving in anyway! I know it will be great :)
