I love Haikus! And I love Smaug...but I wrote about the sea turtle because he reminded me of Lilo and Stitch!
Aloha Sea Turtle
Sings you Mele Kalikimaka
And frolics in the warm Pacific
Dragon beneath us
Fire and fierce smoke
His name is Smaug
Sorry, forgot a word. Here's the whole haiku.
Dragon beneath us
Fire and fierce smoke billowing
His name is smaug
Not sure if I'm supposed to post this here or not but here it goes!
bright orange glowing / majesty of flames across the sky / stealthily guards his horde
Oh! That haiku tool is cool!
The dragon can't sleep.
On his knobby mound of gold
he dreams of pillows.
Here's my stab at Smaug {rawr!}
Tongue full of bright flame
Eyes of glittering jewels
Smaug slumbers in gold.
floating mosaic
drifting, floating, knows no home
that is its beauty
Smaug the terrible
Greedily guards his treasure
Brought low by Bilbo
I like both of these cards, I would be happy to win either. So I wrote a poem about both.
Gliding peacefully
through the ocean tides and currents
Grab Shell! Righteous dude!
inspired by the turtles in finding nemo.
Scales like fire glow gold
Never wake sleeping dragons
Dwarves make good dinner
I love Sea Turtles!
Walter Matthau with scales
Grumpy, but so sweet
Silent wings of flame
His greed brings him beneath
The Lonely Mountain
So both of these cards are beautiful, so I entered for both. Because really, it never hurts to have a back up plan. I must admit though, while I like the sea turtle, I LOVE the Smaug. When I was little, Smaug was my favorite villain! I could practically recite that book by the time I was eight or nine, and Smaug never ceased to frighten me.
Alright! The deadline is here, please standby while Andrei and I judge your Haikus. The winner will be announced at 11:30 P.M. EST
